Hydroplane is the stage name of producer/musician Renzo Gorrio. Having been raised in the suburbs of Miami, FL with nothing to do but to inline skate and make music, which eventually transcended from having fun to making something like an album that has a lot of hard work and dedication coming from a young artist. Music stuck, leading to an eventual move with his band Late Night Curly to Portland, OR for 2 years where he honed his production skills and musical chops. His first two LP’s were of the IDM styling; however, his most recent work has more of a melodic, indie pop vibe, akin to what a Gorgio Morroder and Mathew Dear collaboration might sound like if they both got together to record in Argentina. So if you’re into Korg’s, Rolands and Drum machines then you will definitely dig his variety and styles. Keep in mind when you listen through the whole album your in for some unexpected surprises….
His most recent album titled Flowers released via Circuitree Records is available for a free download. We personally thought it is an album that defines Gorrio’s (Hydroplane) musical style. We really suggest that you get your hands on his LP, its FREE!. Make sure to listen to Hydroplane on Rotation, He definitely has some heavy hitters, plus the album cover is insanely rad!!
Here are a couple of tracks from the new album. Make sure to listen to them on the show as well!!!! Enjoy
