Operation Human Mind Expansion

Operation Human Mind Expansion, otherwise known as OHME (and pronounced “ohm”) are a live electronic duo with a sound, message, and attitude all their own. OHME draws from a unique combination of genres such as drum and bass, dubstep, psychedelic, and industrial to create an interesting sound and original live performance. Kenichi Diaz-Alejandro and Damian Turner make up the band, Kenichi with programming, beats, synth, and back up vocals and Damian with programming, lead vocals, guitar, drums and synth.

Their musical influences range from The Prodigy and Amon Tobin to Atmosphere and Aesop Rock to Ministry and Skinny Puppy and other influences include David Lynch, Carl Jung, and Luis Bunuel. The two started making music together the night Damian moved to Miami in 2009 when they met and subsequently made a track. Kenichi, originally from Paris, France, started making music in 2002 and started performing as OHME in 2008. Damian, originally from Augsberg, Germany, started playing music at age 4 and started producing electronic music at age 14. OHME is sure to continue rising through the growing Miami underground scene.

You can catch these guys on Saturday, April 14 at Mamushka’s. For more info click here.
