Red Carpet, Meet Kartell and Cherokee‏

There’s no denying it. Bardot brings some great talent to Miami. Last Thursday was no different, when the venue featured two (or rather three) of France’s hottest DJ/producers – Cherokee and Kartell. With a stellar set from each of the acts, French house and nu-disco were in full swing, packing the house with a whole lot of dancing feet.

Cherokee started the night off just right, providing the perfect balance of mid-tempo ambience and dare-to-dance sound that initially engaged the audience. It wasn’t long before the carpet was full of moving bodies. The duo, consisting of Terence N’guyen (Darius) and Dorian Miche (Hana Yori Kichou Na), complimented each other’s selections via sound effects and adjustments. It was entertaining, to say the least, watching Terence and Dorian work off each other like a well-rehearsed team.

Kartell eventually took the stage, basically killing it. As a personal fan of his, I wasn’t disappointed in the least bit, rather impressed by his cool demeanor and mixing skill to match. His track selection was just right, and there wasn’t a single person not getting down and dirty on the dance floor. If there were anyone new to this sound thatnight, I wouldn’t doubt a fan of French sound had been born.

Bardot, you guys did good. Watch out for more from Kartell and Cherokee in the coming months. You won’t want to skip a beat with this kind of talent!
