For those not to hung-over from day 1 or weren’t able to attend before, day 2 of Hialeah Fest was just as strong as Friday, if not more.
The opening acts for day 2 premiered some of Miami’s younger bands that had talent in step with the
bigger and older groups of the city.
As the festival progressed, so did the size of the crowd. Soon it became the suck-in-the-gut and sidestep dance to try and see the stage or go to the bathroom, and if you thought there would be relief on the patio, you were wrong.
It too was crowded and cluttered with people all wanting to have a good time and to see and to listen to everything they could in one night.
As with the night before, each band had fifteen minutes on stage before the act on the other side performed, and had to hurry to get their gear packed for the next act to set up. And it can be said without question that with each new act that played, the crowd only wanted more and so did the bands and the floor was alive.
Outside on the patio stage was a bit more relaxed, but those on stage still had the same intensity as those inside. The vibe running through the patio was more that of those who haven’t seen each other in forever and never wanted to be apart again, while having beers at the outside bar or sitting on one of the benches along the wall. What also made the patio more chill was the random line of comedians who took the stage after the last band performed and gave it their best at improvisational stand-up.
Thank you to all those who attended Hialeah Fest 2012, Churchills Pub, all the bands, and we hope to see you all again next year for Hialeah Fest 2013!
