Welcome to ‘Cut A Rug’ where Lady JMW explores the black dance revolution throughout music. Spinning a multitude of genres ranging from Funk and Jazz to House and DNB, Lady JMW’s unique music taste will transport you through the decades one bassline at a time. Every show is a different genre and decade, allowing the listener to enjoy something old and familiar while finding something new and exciting. Lady JMW’s sets are heavily inspired by the revival of black dance music in our modern day club scenes. She studies the progression of black dance music from 1940’s until modern day, highlighting the connection between them all. On ‘Cut A Rug’, the listener has the opportunity to receive an auditory history lesson through black dance music!
